What is watching?

What is watching, right now?

Any "thing" that arises, cannot be your true Self. Any temporary "form", any image, any idea, any "appearance" - you are beyond, watching it.

Simply watch - watch what arises. There is the world, the body, the mind...

What is watching that?

There is an idea of "one who is watching" - that is also witnessed. That's not it.

There is a vague "shape" or form - some idea of a ME watching - that is also witnessed. That's not it.

We continually have ideas, shapes, forms, vague "appearances" arising - yet that witnessing is STILL beyond.

Push back - anything appearing is witnessed.

Find the pure witness, that which is watching the most subtle arisings, the most subtle appearances, the most subtle ideas.

Push back - negate each appearance as some "thing" witnessed. Not-this, not-this, not-this....

Continue until there is nothing - pure witnessing - even the idea of "one who pushes back" or "one who is looking for the witness" is negated as another "thing" witnessed.

Can you see that SEEING? Can you witness that witnessing?

Who is it? Is it personal? Limited? Formed? Does it have characteristics?

Can you name it? Can you point to it? More "not-this, not-this..."

You are not any form, any "thing" that is witnessed. The fact of witnessing shows that you are beyond, watching all forms, all arisings.

You cannot FIND it as an object - You ARE that. That ABSENCE of "thing-ness", that VOID of "appearance" - THAT which is ITSELF not knowable, yet KNOWS.

That pure witnessing IS ITSELF the FACT of your BEINGNESS, the pure "I AM" before any thoughts arise about it, before any form appears to identify with it. THAT which makes it impossible to deny that you exist.

You are nothing with which you can identify. You watch it all come and go.

Simply the formless space - no-thing-ness which is watching the impermanent play of "things".

The vast Emptiness which cannot be found, yet can never EVER be negated.
