Does God need to find Himself?

There is an obvious intelligence at work - just notice... the spinning planets, the trees growing from an acorn, the plant moving to face the Sun... the body breathing, heart beating, protecting itself...

This intelligence is functioning the universe yet this intelligence isn't just evident in the way things move... the very essence of "things" is intelligence - from the molecule to the atom to subatomic particles to quarks and beyond - from this perspective "things" are not solid - they are quite clearly moving and intelligent emptiness... consciousness itself...

This intelligence has been attributed to an external and separate God - a judgmental God which created the world yet is somehow apart from it. Yet this intelligence is everywhere - omnipresent - all powerful - omnipotent - all knowing - omniscient...

This power/presence/knowing is consciousness, aware of itself... Life living itself... God knowing Himself - appearing as "this and that" yet not ever broken up except conceptually, except in mental distinction, in abstraction...

The relative appearance as an individual perspective is necessary - if one "thing" were present there would be no manifestation, no "world" as such - it takes another "thing" to see the first "thing" - yet even then there is no space and time - no way to measure without one "thing" to hold still and be an observer. With the addition of another relative "thing" we now have the perception of movement, depth, distance, duration...

This relativity is necessary for the manifestation to appear - without the individual perspective the absolute would not know itself. God needs to forget Himself in order for the play to go on - yet what is the harm if he forgets? What is the dire necessity for the spiritual search? Can God lose Himself by not knowing Himself?

Does God really need to find Himself? Where would he have to look, if he is already everything? Where can he look? If he is already everything, what evidence can he find? What state or experience would be different to verify or validate Himself to Himself?

The only thing that seems to happen is that the belief in the individual falls away - the belief in ME as a separate entity, a separate and independent "Life" - separate from Life itself, this very intelligence - Consciousness, God...

Nothing needs to be done - yet to the apparent individual something MUST be done - if the spiritual search arises then that drive will dominate - God is again seeking Himself - yet all the while laughing at the hilarious and tragic struggle of the false ME trying to be rid of itself.

And the laughter reverberates over the mountains, across the water, up to the stars, and slap bang onto this smile.
